THEMATIC ASSESSMENT

Grade 10 learners. Thus, the theme of the Blog for thematic assessment shall be anchored on the National Women’s Month Celebration. 2024 18-day Campaign to End Violence Against Women.

Violence Against Women (VAW) is a pervasive social problem not just in the Philippines but worldwide, affecting an estimated 1 in 3 women. The 2022 National Demographic and Health Survey (NDHS) released by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) reveals that nearly 1 out of 5 women have experienced emotional, physical, or sexual violence by their current or most recent husband or intimate partner.

The thematic output will be discussing the  significance of the Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children (VAWC) Act of 2004, and Republic Act (R.A.) No. 9262 in the yearly observance of the 18-day Campaign to End Violence Against Women.

Among the VAW-related laws, choose 2 RA’s/Laws and explain.

·         RA 8353 (The Anti-Rape Law of 1997)

·         RA 7877 (Anti-Sexual Harassment Act of 1995)

·         RA 10364 (Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2013)

·         RA 11313 (Safe Spaces Act) in 2019,
